Nikki Carrara: Jude Sandy of American Dance Legacy Louisiana Dance Festival 2009Welcome to the 2009 Louisiana Dance Festival!

On behalf of the Louisiana Alliance for Dance I would like to welcome you to the 2009 Louisiana Dance Festival October 2-4, 2009 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.  We have offerings for everyone from the intermediate dancer through seasoned professional.  The festival will feature an adjudicated Gala Showcase and a Louisiana Student Showcase.

The Louisiana Dance Festival is hosting American Dance Legacy Institute this year.  ADLI will teach a pre-conference workshop on Friday, and a workshop geared for dance educators and teaching artists on Saturday. If you have ever wondered what it would be like to learn an American masterwork of dance you will not want to miss American Dance Legacy Institute as they teach and present their trade mark etudes from choreographers: David Parsons, Donald McKayle, and jazz choreographer Danny Buraczeski.  The etudes are available for purchase with no royalties and minimal restrictions at $50-$100.  Imagine having an American dance masterwork on your concert!  Also on Faculty this year will be renowned ballet teacher John Magnus formerly from the Joffrey Ballet School. Check the website for full faculty details.

I look forward to seeing you at the 2009 Louisiana Dance Festival!
